Hi, I'm Ruth! I paint atmospheric urban landscapes (such as rainy city streets, empty train stations, neon lights at night, ethereal glowing skies) from my bedroom in Hackney, London.
I taught myself to paint in lockdown in 2021, instantly became obsessed, and haven't stopped since.
My art reflects a lifetime of living in my own world, feeling lonely, and searching for beauty in the ordinary. My speciality is capturing light, and my work has been described as dreamy and contemplative, with an implied hidden narrative.
Through my work I hope to provide others with safe little worlds where they can rest, and a sense of being deeply understood and reassured, without the need for words.
